Slow Cooked Beef Stew (gluten free)

Number of Servings: 6

  • 1 lb cubed beef stew meat (organic grass fed is best or venison or bison works too)
  • 1 can or 2 cups of chopped tomatoes
  • 2 cups Spring green beans or peas
  • 1/4 cup of rice flour (or other flour alternative)
  • 2-3 tsps of Mixed herbs such as oregano and basil (fresh is best)
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1-2 cloves garlic crushed or minced
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce (optional)
  • 1 onion
  • 2 cups of gluten free chicken or beef broth/stock
  • Pepper to taste

Place meat in slow cooker, in a small bowl mix together flour, salt, pepper and pour over meat, stir to coat meat with flour mixture. Stir in garlic, bay leaf, paprika, Worcestershire sauce, onion, beef broth, potatoes, carrots, and celery (if desired)

Cover and cook on low setting 10 – 12 hours or high for 4 – 6 hours.
